From the 1st of May to the 31st of October 2010, China will host the Shanghai World Expo. More than 150 seminars and conferences will take place at this time in the Belgian pavilion. On Monday afternoon, the Belgian-Chinese Economic and Commercial Council (BCECC) presented the pavilion’s agenda so as to enable future visitors to meet with the different exhibitors present throughout the event, and the dates dedicated to each part of our country.
After the opening ceremony on the 30th of April 2010, the first theme day was the European Day on the 9th of May.
The 13th of June has been designated the National Day at the Belgian pavilion in Shanghai. The Flemish Days were celebrated in May, the Wallonia Days will take place between the 21st and 30th of June and the Brussels Days between the 20th and the 25th of September.
Each province will also be represented during one or multiple days. This will also be the case for the three Belgian organisations responsible for promoting external trade, the AWEX (Walloon agency for export and foreign investments), the FIT (Flanders Investment & Trade) and Brussels Export, in addition to various companies such as UCB, Bekaert, AB Inbev, etc.
The BCECC highlighted the importance of the Belgian Pavilion in Shanghai in promoting Belgian specialities to the Chinese public and media such as beer, chocolate, diamonds, etc., in leaving an imprint from our companies and in setting up new forms of cooperation between Belgium and China. (SCM)
